BMJ. Hi Nia.

NL. Hi Pete, great to hear from you! I’ve been really busy this year - but can’t complain it’s a very good thing for me and the trio.

BMJ. I’ve heard that apart from working on the new album, you’ve been out of the country recently.
NL. Yes - I've been teaching in the south of France on a choral week with a great jazz singer and composer called Pete Churchill. Great fun! And I’m looking forward to going back there again to run my own summer school in August (at 'La Mason Vert', Roujan). And the album seems to be generating lots of interest, in fact me and the boys are so excited that we’re already planning the next one.

BMJ. Can you tell us in your own words how you’re feeling about coming back to Aber to perform.
NL. I came back last year for the Gwent Youth Theatre Anniversary and it’s always very exciting returning to Wales and especially Aber. Not knowing who I’m going to bump into and so many lovely familiar faces is always a joy - however it’s a bit like performing in front of family – I’ll be a bit of a nervous wreck to start with.

But this time we are really looking forward to seeing the new jazz club, and the reputation of this great venue is already spreading around. Some of my favourite London bands have already been asking about it, so there will probably be a waiting list for gigs soon - we hope!

BMJ. Thanks Nia, I’m really looking forward to seeing you on 17 June.
NL. No problem Pete lovely to hear from you and very much looking forward to seeing you all – on Fathers Day!

Pete
